“白玉4号”茄子

　　A New Eggplant F1 Hybrid ‘Baiyu No.4’

　　‘Baiyu No.4’ was developed by crossing two inbred lines ‘Fengbai’ (♀) and ‘Lubaiqie’(♂). The multi-site comparative test was carried out in Guangdong province in the autumn of 2020 and the spring of 2021. Compared to the control ‘Baiyu’, its total yields increased extremely significantly by 12.6% in the spring and 12.1% in the autumn. It produces long cylindrical fruits with smooth and shiny white peel, about 230 g in weight, 30.5 cm in length, and 4.5 cm in diameter per fruit. It has middle resistance to bacterial wilt. In South China, it is suitable for cultivation in open fields in spring and autumn.
