　　A New Bitter Gourd Hybrid ‘Cuilv No.8’

　　‘Cuilv No.8’ is a new broad-shoulder bitter gourd hybrid derived from the cross of mid-early maturing and elite lines Q18-3 and Q34-1. The node of the first female flower is 15.2–15.3, and the first gourd is located at 16.0–16.5 node. The fruit shape is short and conical with green skin. There are many round tubercules with strips. It is about 14.4–15.1 cm in length, 9.1–10.1 cm in diameter, and 1.1–1.2 cm in flesh thickness. The fruit weight is 420–480 g, and the yield per plant is around 1.79–2.20 kg. The general cultivation yield is about 37.5t·hm^-2. It is suitable to be cultivated in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan in spring and autumn.
